My New York City Transit System Photography is an exploration of the humanity of the captured state. While traveling underground we exist in an altered sense of time where we exist as an in-between destination. This in-between elicits a unique state of mind that I find deeply affecting.

We are vulnerable, peaceful, agitated, contemplative, even talkative, all while, waiting for something to happen. as much as street photography seeks to capture the moment, what interests me in this underground setting, is capturing the interior moment, the psychological, the philosophical, the down right funny and the raw emotion of my own reflection.

Pared with words of observation, my images push past the moment and wade into something that is rarely explored in this genre, the within.
